Lab-on-Fiber GmbH develops the most advanced surgical laser probes in the market, equipped with the worldwide first intrinsic sensory function. The award winning innovation of Lab-on-Fiber will significantly increase patient safety, shorten operation times, increase treatment success, avoid repetitive application and open up new fields of application for laser surgery.
Among sensory fiber probes, Lab-on-Fiber offers also cost-effective and robust plug-and-play surgical probes for almost all indications where laser surgery is applicable from urology to laser thermo-therapy, laser-assisted lipolysis and EVLA.

Endovenous Laser Treatment, Laser Assisted Lipolysis, Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression, Dacryocystorhinostomy, ENT Applications, Excision of Tumors, Tonsillectomy, Chondroplasty, Pneumology. Soft tissue sections (e.g. urethral stricture, posterior urethral valves, endopyelotomy, bladder neck contractures), resection and ablation (e.g. benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), condyloma, penile carcinoma, bladder and skin hemangioma), lithotripsy (e.g. renal pelvis, ureter and bladder), tissue coagulation (e.g. vasectomy, incision, diverticulum or fistulas, bladder augmentation, and urinary diversion)
The company’s customers are surgical device manufacturers, clinics and practitioners as well as OEM partners.
Stephan Kufner
PhD, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
has many years of management experience as managing director of Kufner & Kufner GmbH and interim plant manager of production site for medical laser probes of LEONI Fiber Optics GmbH. He served several years as Head R&D of LEONI as well as head of department in Institute of Microtechnology in Mainz / Germany. As co-founder and CEO of the company his focus lies on sales, IP management and organization.

Ruzin Ağanoğlu
Prof., PhD
is a Darboven IDEE awardee of the year 2017. She has many years of project management experience in medical technologies and regulatory affairs since 2002. She served for many years as Team Leader Product Engineering for the medical segment of LEONI Fiber Optics GmbH and application specialist for surgical lasers of Bausch & Lomb. She holds a PhD in laser physics. In 2022 she received the ‘Ehrennadel’ from the German Physical Society (DPG).
Wolfgang Hufnagel
is a former Alcatel-Lucent Director with more than 20 years experience in R&D partnership management and business development.
